This timepiece is distinguished by a double retrograde hour complication, offering a unique way to read time. The Cintrée Curvex Double Retrograde Hour features two retrograde sectors: one upper arc for the day hours (from 6 AM to 6 PM), and another lower arc for the night hours (from 6PM to 6 AM).
Unlike a traditional hour hand, which makes a full rotation around a central axis, the Cintrée Curvex Double Retrograde Hours displays the time with two hour hands, each moving along an arc. When the upper and lower hour hand reach 6PM and 6AM respectively, they instantly jump back to their starting position (at 6AM and 6PM respectively), alternately representing the hours of the day and night.
In a bold creative stride, Franck Muller redefines the conventions of time display with a watch where the minute numerals take the place of the hour numerals on the dial, offering an original perspective that contrasts with a classic dial.
The Cintrée Curvex Double Retrograde Hours symbolises the art of watchmaking at Franck Muller, merging timeless aesthetics with innovative mechanics. This timepiece, a reflection of Franck Muller’s expertise and creative audacity, represents an invitation to explore time in a renewed and poetic form.
